About Me

Welcome to The Suburban Wedgie – It’s a little bit cheeky.

My name is Naomi and I am the freelance writer and editor at the helm of this site. I’m so glad you’ve found this blog on my corner of the internet.

I approach my work with passion and creativity, which is generally inspired by a touch of madness, as is the case with many a writer!

My work covers a vast array of topics from political satire to a side of pets and mental health issues. However my preferred area of interest is the all-encompassing lifestyle genre. I write about real issues fearlessly, while having some fun at my own expense… and sometimes at the expense of others too!

My published works have appeared in a number of celebrated Australian and U.S Publications such as The Huffington Post, Eureka Street, The Mighty, The Glow, YourTango, New Matilda, The Mamamia network, Independent Australia, Virgin and on Cathay Pacific’s travel blog.

You can view samples of my published work on the portfolio page. I specialize in opinion editorial commentary. I am a former editor of The U.S based news media website ‘The Good Men Project’ and I am an affiliate blogger for iconic Aussie lifestyle brand The Healthy Mummy.

I am available for freelance writing pieces, feature articles and/ or ongoing copy or content production contracts. I can be contacted regarding collaboration or other opportunities directly through the ‘contact’ page of this site.

I look forward to hearing from you and having you join in The Suburban Wedgie’s community. We don’t take life too seriously, because nobody gets out alive.

So welcome, come back soon and feel free to drop me a line with any enquiries or merely to say ‘hi’. Writing is a solitary endeavour after all. Humour me, as I plan to humour you.
